Quality of sleep among healthcare workers treating patients with coronavirus disease-19

Introduction Since the declaration of first Covid-19 case on December 08th ,2019, and to curb spread this pandemic, each country notably Tunisia, has implemented a preventive strategy dominated by general lockdowns in accordance with social distancing basic hygiene measures. These measures were not applicable health care sector as workers are at forefront fight against COVID-19. This condition affects only their physical caused elevated workload, but also mental causing anxiety, fear, depression. Previous studies have reported that professionals feel stigmatized, experience high levels anxiety symptoms depression, sleep problems. Impaired Quality Sleep (QoS) can affect efficiency providing medical services adequate psychological support for patients suffering from Objectives To evaluate QoS among treating COVID-19 quantifying depression anxiety. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted 75 matched age sex working public hospital Taher Sfar Mahdia. The based self administred, French language questionnaire containing three validated questionnaires: 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD-7) Scale, 9-items Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) Pittsburgh Index (PSQI) additional survey constructed purpose study. Results Healthcare professional (Group I) group predominately females mean aged 32.67±7.04. had poorer Sleep; score 10.6 ± 742 vs 7.89 6.14 ( p=0.001). Levels significantly higher I (respectively p=0.005 0.03).
